In the preparation of chicken feed, not only need to consider the nutritional standards of chickens, but also the appropriate mixing ratio of various feeds.

Carbohydrate feed

Mainly contains starch and sugar, can account for about 70% of the dietary mix.

Corn: one of the higher energy feeds in cereal feeds, can account for 45%-70% of the mix.

Bran: better palatability, more protein and carbon content, can account for 5%-30% of the mix.

Barley: due to the high crude fiber content, the amount should not be too much, can account for 15% -20% of the mix.

Sorghum: taste more astringent, use too much will lead to chicken disease, can account for about 10% of the mix.

Rice bran: mainly used as supplementary material, should not be more than 8% of the mixture.

Protein feed

Containing protein 30%-65%, can account for 5%-30% of the mixture.

Soybean cake, peanut kernel cake: is a better plant protein feed, good palatability, can account for 10%-20% of the mixed feed.

Cotton kernel cake: due to toxins, the amount should not be too much, generally not more than 7% of the mixed feed.

Fish meal: it is a high quality animal protein, and can account for 5%-15% of the mixed feed. The salt content of fish meal should be calculated, and the content of fish meal used should not be more than 0.4% of the mixed feed.

Green feed

Mainly used to supplement the lack of vitamins, can account for about 30% of the mixture.

Various fresh green vegetables: the amount of 20%-30% of the mix.

Mineral feed

Mainly used to supplement the shortage of minerals in the mix, can account for 0.3%-9% of the mix.

Bone meal: mainly used to supplement calcium and phosphorus, can account for 1%-2.5% of the mix.

Shellfish meal: mainly used to supplement the lack of calcium, can account for 1% -7% of the mixture, laying hens should be used more, other chickens should be used less.

Salt: mainly used to supplement the lack of sodium in the mixture, often accounting for 0.3%-0.4% of the mixture. The salt content of fish meal should also be calculated.

Grit: often added after 1 month of age, can improve the utilization of feed, can account for 0.5%-1% of the mixture.
